About Dr. John A. King
Over 15 years ago, upon Dr. Cole’s first visit to Australia, John was present to hear the now famous challenge that “manhood and Christlikeness are synonymous”. In this interview prepared for the Summit Christian Newspaper Ps. John talks of his first encounter with Dr Cole and his appointment to the top job at ICMI. Beccy and I had been married for 12 months and our life was in turmoil. I remember Dr. Cole looked down his glasses, pointed that crooked finger and explained to over 400 men the difference between love and lust. I sat there weeping and realized that I had lusted my new bride and not loved her. I had lusted her emotionally, spiritually and sexually. I learned that day that love was not about satisfying self at the expense of others. I stood that day with many other men and repented. I went home, repented to Beccy and asked her forgiveness – it was a turning point in my life, my marriage and my ministry. |
John Arthur King, long time Australian representative for Christian Men’s Network and for International Christian Men’s Institute (ICMI), has been chosen as the new President and CEO of ICMI. His appointment was made by the Board, composed of Dr. A.R. Bernard, John Binkley, Pastor Lafayette Scales, Jim Halek and Doyle Kennedy – these were the men who served on Dr. Cole’s original CMN board and the men who have overseen the transition of the ministry for the last two years. John is currently the President of the International Men's Network, formerly known as Christian Men's Network Australia.
